Xenon South Africa 2009
Sunday, January 11th, 2009

We have just returned from the beautiful South Africa (SA). It is also a country of gyros despite the very special conditions. We were approximately 120 km south of Johannesburg close to the town of Parys in the Free State, on a farm, with the density altitude 7400 ft at 34 degree C in the shadow. We were there especially to fine tune the Xenon’s, specifically the RST. This was to finalize the turbo wastegate settings, propeller pitch and temperature management system for the South African conditions.

All went well, we made many demo flights and our machines truly performed well when compared to the other ones present, this included the Magni’s and Ela’s. All pilots that flew the Xenon’s were delighted with the handling, quality and extreme comfort.

We can now also announce that in collaboration with our exclusive SA distributor, we are officially opening CELIER AVIATION SOUTHERN AFRICA with Braam Hechter as our representative. We also entered into agreements with Wagtail Aviation / Johan Von Ludwig as our main service / maintenance center. He is highly experienced, have a neat, fully tooled workshop, private airstrip, fuel pump, guest house, and the landscape is beautiful, perfect for our type of operations. This facility is in the process of becoming a South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) Approved facility, certified for aircraft assembly and maintenance; they can also perform all maintenance and repair tasks which includes Rotax overhaul, spare parts supply, rotor balancing and much more. They are also an accredited flight training center and can conduct gyro ab-initio and conversion training

This new business configuration is there to reinforce our presence in SA, and to give our representative the power and support of the mother company. Next generation aircraft types will also be presented during this year. You can contact him directly on his new email: braam@celieraviation.eu or mobile +27846977703

Lots of commercial activities are undertaken in SA; our machines are exposed to this environment and are becoming totally mature in this harsh environment. They are truly becoming practical tools for everybody planning to undertake recreational or commercial activities.

We are grateful to Johan Von Ludwig and his team for accommodating us at his airfield. We wish to extend a special, Thank You, Johan, and also to Braam Hechter for his professionalism and kindness.

Glass cockpit Odyssey

Sunday, January 11th, 2009

We would like to present better our now appreciated large glass cockpit. The Odyssey from MGL. It is now fully reprogrammed especially for the Xenon. Integrates complete checklists, engine management, analogic type flight instrument page and many many more fonctions. It my favorite choice of instrumentation, easy to use, a pleasure to fly. Few times it even saved some situations by being lost in fog…the precision is such that it would deserved to be fully IFR certified.Click on links for exemples of views. you will notice our new instrument box, much larger, can accomodate other configurations.
