Institute of Aviation is one of the oldest research and development units in Poland, which since 1926, provides innovative solutions for national and international aerospace industry. The facility employs nearly 1,200 workers, mostly young, highly qualified engineers from the airline industry. Institute contribute to many international projects, important implementing for the development of aviation projects. The institute is divided into four substantive divisions: the Center for New Technologies, Research Center for Materials and Structures, NET Institute and the Engineering Design Center. The main areas of activity of the Institute are: physics, engine, aerodynamics, composite technology, structural studies, non-destructive testing, strength tests of materials and structures, fatigue of materials, noise, air, design of aircraft structures, avionics and space technology development and the creation of broad networks of experts.
